JetSurf vs. Kite comparison
As a kitesurfer, you know the thrill of getting ready for the kite trip. It doesn’t really matter where you’re heading or for how long.
The shivering in your stomach is there and you can’t wait to hop on the board with kite happily swinging high above your head. What a feeling! That’s what we live for right? You pack your van, add a coolbox filled with beers, pick up a couple of friends along the way and you’re off to the nearest lake or bay. The wind is pumping, its all good.
You get to the spot, walk to the beach and dip your ankles in the water to check the temperature. Mmm, pleasant. But wait … water surface is perfectly still. Where the hell did that wind go?! Oh come ooon! How disappointing is this?Yeaah, kiters know this feeling well. We still have those cold beers, but that’s just a unsatisfying remedy…
Well… Time has come to play our cards. Time has come, to become a rock star. The legend and hero, savior of the day. Time has come – to introduce to your friends – the one and only – JETSURF! Born for fun.
Alright, seriously now. It’s not easy task to compare Kite and JetSurt. Its like trying to compare dog and cat. They both have their highs and lows .. who am I kidding, cats don’t have any highs (just kidding again).
The most important difference between Jetsurf and Kite is obviously the need for wind. If there’s none, you don’t kite. Whereas with JetSurf, you can go any time you like. You don’t have to follow the wind, You don’t have to chase the waves, You don’t have to own a speedboat with someone to drag you on the rope behind it. You just instantly make your mind and go. This is freedom. And the feeling is like nothing else.
The thing is, kiteboarding is so popular, it too popular. Its getting ugly crowded on the best spots, which kind of kills the freedom of it. Sure, JetSurf is more expensive toy than a kite. Is the extra pay worth it? Absolutely. Like someone wise once said: “The purpose of life is to enjoy it!”
